"He who gains victory over other men is strong; but he who gains victory over himself is all powerful" Lao-Tzu
Much is said about the workouts we do, the weights we lift ... and all the "scientific" techniques we employ to improve our strength and fitness. A "secret" variable that is commonly overlooked but immensely powerful in the process of achieving our goals is "GUTS"... The guts to walk in the door that first day, when you have NEVER seen a gym quite like ours... the guts to attempt your very first rope climb at age 50... the guts to go for broke on a PR snatch... We believe these personal challenges that took guts, whether we succeed or not, are as important if not more so, than the actual achievements we record daily... Walking out of the gym after a day that took GUTS is unforgettable... We applaud your GUTS!

Very well said...I like it!

Love the post,so true. Had a revelation recently at my CFL1 cert. People would sometimes ask how I gained improvements somewhat quicker than others. Never really had a good answer, didn't know why, then I realized that it was my intensity as Crossfit labels it or "guts" that fueled the fire. This is a very key ingredient to the mix that is often overlooked. It can't be coached, it must be inspired from within.
NO GUTS, NO GLORY!!!

I do pole dancing on a regular basis, and it is a really good work out for the tummy muscles.
